With Halloween right around the corner, the Cowe Crew wanted to share with you some of our favorite Etsy shops that are selling spectacularly spooky seasonal products! According to Etsy, their platform has shown increased demand for Halloween themed outdoor decor, face masks, decorations, and more. This year, as small businesses are having to adapt to our socially distant world, they are quickly and consciously responding to changing trends and consumer demands. With that in mind, the entire team at Cowe absolutely LOVES Halloween, and though we will all be safely staying at home this year, we will still fabulously decorate and celebrate in the best way possible. Please enjoy our picks and if possible, support these small shops and their big dreams!

As with searches for vintage decor, searches for creepy candles went up last year by 11%. Why? They add a nod to horror without having to go all out. If there was an award for the spookiest candles…it would definitely go to Creepy Candles. You have probably seen the infamous “Bleeding Hand Candle”, and they are a must have for all spooky season enthusiasts! Their Coffin Skeleton Candle is our personal favorite, as it burns it reveals a skeleton! If you’re planning to have a scary movie marathon on Halloween, grab yourself some Creepy Candles to help set the ambiance.

Small businesses selling Halloween decor might sometimes feel the pressure creating pieces that keep customers interested all year round. One way they can adapt is by creating pieces that are practical and festive. That brings us to Meckley Brooms, where practical meets festive. In case you need a new method of transportation…or a new way to clean your floors, grab yourself a broom from Meckley Brooms that doubles as a wicked decoration. These one of a kind brooms are just gorgeous. Not to mention- the Meckly family has been making brooms for over 100 years!

If there is one thing you have noticed from following us on social media, it’s that we love animals, especially our own furry friends. Luckily this year, we won’t have to stress about finding halloween costumes for our dogs- Sew Doggone Creative has us covered. Just last year the demand for dog Halloween costumes went up 8% on Etsy, which makes sense considering how prevalent social media is today!
With many people staying home this year, the demand for decorations has increased. If you are into more cute- less scary Halloween decor, Jubabean Design has you covered. I mean- how cute are these potion bottles pictured below?

Another way small businesses have adapted during the pandemic is by creating essential supplies for their customers. According to Etsy’s blog, there has been a “172% boom in searches for Halloween face masks between July and August 2020.” We can all agree 172% is a massive increase, and shops like Franken Mama Art have adapted. From Disney’s Hocus Pocus, to Horror Movie Villains, to Nightmare Before Christmas, this shop has a Halloween facemask for everyone.
